Lewis Hamilton kept his chances of third consecutive world title alive as he raced to his fourth US grand prix win in Austin this Sunday. However the did not make much of a difference as Nico Rosberg clinched second place finish followed by Daniel Ricciardo who finished third on the podium.
With the US Grand Prix results, Rosberg’s lead at the top of the drivers championship is reduced to 26 points with only three more races to go which kind of put him in driving seat going into the business end of the season. However it only takes one more win for Hamilton and a “DNF” for Rosberg to turn things around. So there is still alot to play for as far as the championship is concerned.
Qualifying & Race Results: Since the race is taking place in United States, Formula 1 viewers around the world need to get their times right. The Friday coverage starts at around 4pm uk time with first practice session while saturday’s qualifying takes place at 7pm uk time. Followed by Sunday’s big race at around 8pm uk time.
Formula 1 season moves ahead as United States Grand Prix 2016 takes place this weekend from Friday, 21 October 2016 to Sunday, 23 October 2016 at the highly advance CIRCUIT OF THE AMERICAS. This grand prix might prove pivotal in deciding who will win the 2016 Formula 1 drivers championship as Nico Rosberg go into this weekend’s race on the back of 3 wins in last four grand prixs and healthy 33 points lead at top of the drivers standings. With only four races left, all Rosberg has to do is driver sensibly to win his very first F1 title.
United States Formula 1 Grand Prix 2016 Preview: Mercedes has already clinched the constructors championship while both of their drivers are fighting it for drivers championship. Lewis Hamilton has been absolute woeful after the summer break and has not win a race in last four grand prix where Rosberg came out as winners three times while Daniel Ricciardio registered 1 win. On paper and looking at the form of both drivers it looks highly unlike that Brit can turn things around in last four races where he trail by 33 points put Rosberg in such comfortable position.
His task does not depend on his results only as even if he wins all remaining four races, Rosberg can still clinch the title by finishing second in every other race. So not only the Brit needs to put his bad starts woes behind but also need Rosberg to struggle. However if we take a look at short history of Austin circuit results, Hamilton has won three of the past 4 races on this venue. We can safely say circuit of the Americas is Hamilton’s happy hunting ground.
