One of the biggest games this weekend will be played between two arch rivals as Argentina hosts Brazil in third matchday of south american world cup 2018 qualifiers. The game was scheduled to be played on Thursday night but was brought forward by 24 hours as consistent rain and wet pitch forced the organizers to reschedule it for friday night.
Argentina vs Brazil – CONMEBOL WC Qualifier
Date: Friday, 13 November 2015, Kickoff: 23:00 uk time
This is a game of huge proportions, pretty much an “El Classico” on international level with five time world champions Brazil visit 2 time world champions Argentina. But both teams sit outside the top 4 in south america world cup 2018 qualifier standings. Argentina has yet to win a game after two matches while Brazil won 1 and lost 1 so far after two matchdays.
Argentina will be missing some key players ahead of the Brazil game with the likes of Carlos Tevez and Sergio Aguero ruled out while Lionel Messi is still nursing his injury suffered last month. While Brazil will also be without Marcelo and Marquinhos which means Douglas Santos and Gabrial will be starting for the Samba Boys.
This is how I expect both teams to lineup for tonights clash. The confirmed lineups will be announced closer to the start of the game.
Predictions: Argentina has been one of the best teams in world football for best part of last 3 years but they are struggling for form going into the very important qualifier against Brazil. The so called home advantage might turn into disadvantage if Argentina fails to go combat with Brazil in early stages. Brazil will be the happier of the two sides if this ends in a draw but Argentina will be looking to go all out and win their first qualifier.
