Arsenal took on Everton in the premier league game this tuesday night at Goddison Park and it was a crucial game for both sides. Arsenal started confident in the opening 20 minutes and they opened the scoring thanks to deflected Alexis Sanches freekick which founds its way into the net after Ashley Williams failed to clear a weak shot. However Everton got themselves back into the game just before the break when Seamus Coleman scored to make it 1-1. Ashley Williams scored a late second half header to make to 2-1 for Everton.
Everton 2-1 Arsenal Highlights
[ English Premier League 2016-17 Match ]
20′ 0 – 1 Alexis Sanchez scored in 20th minute with a lucky deflected freekick to put Arsenal in lead.
44′ 1 – 1 Seamus Coleman brought Everton back into the game at stroke of halftime.
86′ 2 – 1 Ashley Williams scored late in second half with a thumping header to make it 2-1 for Everton.
Match Preview: Arsenal has kind of seen through their traditionally boggy month of November without any major hickup and they find themselves just three points behind league leaders Chelsea. They face Everton in a game where a win might prove pivotal for Arsenal’s chances of title race. Last time these two meet was back in March when Arsenal ran out comfortable 2-0 winners at Goddison park.
Arsenal will have to cope with massive injury pile up with Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Flamini and Cech joining Wilshere, Rosicky and Cazorla on the treatment table. So Daivd Ospina set to continue in goal Hector Bellerin, Monreal, Mertasacker and Koscielny to make up the back four. Elnany and Coquelin to play in holding roles with Ozil, Campbell and Sanchez (doubtful) playing behind Olivier Giroud.
Everton will be delighted with the form of Lukaku who can not stop scoring at the moment and his well taken double against Chelsea got themselves a place in the semifinals of FA Cup. This is how I expect both teams to lineup on Saturday.
Match Predictions: Everton has been woeful at home losing 7 games this season and their recent form against Arsenal is not something they will be looking up too having only won 1 game in the last 17 meetings. But this is the perfect opportunity for Everton to get something out of a game against Arsenal. I am going with a 2-1 win for Everton with Lukaku scoring a brace.
Arsenal has been woeful of late and they needed a reaction from the squad against Everton in league game. Thats exactly when Wenger got when Arsenal brushed Everton aside with a superb first half performance. Early goal from Danny Welbeck in 7th minute and a magnificent counter attacking goal just before the break from Iwobi made it 2-0 and put Arsenal in commanding position.
Danny Welbeck put Arsenal 1-0 up against Everton with an early strike in 7th minute of the game while youngster Alex Iwobi was handed his first league start and he grabbed his first and Arsenal’s second of the day with a neatly taken strike just before the break as Arsenal went into the half time 1-0 up.
