FC Barcelona visited Alaves in the Spanish La Liga game on Saturday afternoon and were hoping to go top of the table for atleast a few hours by winning the game. Barca started stronger and finally broke the deadlock in 37th minute thanks to goal from Luis Suarez. Neymar made it 2-0 before the halftime as Barcelona put themselves in commanding position for rest of the game. Watch match highlights of the game here.

Barcelona currently sit second in the table with 45 points after 21 league games thats just 1 place and 1 point behind Real Madrid who are currently leading the title race with 46 points. However Madrid do have an advantage with 2 games in hand. On Saturday Barcelona can really get back into the title race with a solid win over Alaves and go 2 points clear at top as Madrid are playing later in the night.
However they take on Alaves side who already defeated Barcelona at Camp Nou earlier in the season. Alaves are having a wonderful season as they are pretty safe from relegation and also qualified for Copa Del Rey final which will be against Barcelona in May 2017.
FC Barcelona 1-2 Deportivo Alaves Highlights
[ Spanish Primera Liga 2016-17 ]
39′ 0 – 1 Deyverson stunned the camp nou just before the break when he scored to put away side 1-0 up.
47′ 1 – 1 Jeremy Mathieu brought Barcelona back jsut after the break.
64′ 1 – 2 Ibai Gomez scored famous goal which earned Alaves a win against mighty Barcelona.
Possible Starting Lineups: Marc Ter Stege is set to replace Jasper Cillessen in starting lineup having sit out for Copa Del Rey tie while Neymar is set to feature alongside Messi and Suarez upfront while trusted trio of Iniesta, Busquets and Rakitic to playing in central midfield roles. This is how I expect both teams to lineup on Saturday.
Match Predictions: Barcelona’s two defeat in the league this season include that historic win by Alaves at Camp Nou earlier in the season and Luis Enrique will be hoping to avoid such result again. Messi has been in inspired form this season although he is not scoring as freely as he used to but he is more involved in the build up and creating more chances than ever. He is single handedly keeping Barcelona in the title race and this is about time for Neymar and Suarez to start firing as they head to business end of the season. I am going with a comfortable win for Barcelona in this one.
