Jose Mourinho Post Match Interview:
Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United Highlights
[ English Premier League 2017-18 Match ]
45′ [ Halftime Report ] Liverpool absolute bossed the game for the first 45 minutes not only dominating possession but also put United defense under massive pressure time and again. However United had their fair share of chances and could have taken the lead.
Liverpool vs Manchester United Preview: Manchester United have made a flying start in the premier league this season winning 7 of the first 8 league games. However, as they play Liverpool on Saturday many consider this to be their first real test and Jose Mourinho’s side go into this match on the back of a tricky international break with couple of important players returning injured. Liverpool must win this game to keep themselves relevant in the title race as they are already 7 points behind United so early in the season.
Jurgen Klopp also find himself without Sadio Mane which means Liverpool will have to play Daniel Sturridge upfront with Firmino, Coutinho and Salah playing in attacking roles. United will be without both Pogba and Fellaini while means Matic and Herrara to start in central midfield roles.
Manchester United 1-1 Liverpool – January 2017
[ English Premier League 2017 Match ]
27′ 0 – 1 James Milner scored from penalty spot after Paul Pogba foolishly handled the ball inside the box. Referee straight away point to the spot and Milner scored his 5th of the season from penalty spot.
84′ 1 – 1 Zlatan Ibrahimovic score late in second half to finally break Liverpool’s resistance. United totally deserved going on level terms as they played Liverpool out of the park for most of the game.
Team News: Mourinho has been critical of the timing of this game as United play on Thursday followed by another game on Sunday afternoon against Chelsea. United has kind of dominated Liverpool in this fixture even in the last three years where they were not at their best and now with wealth of talent at their disposal fans were hoping for a better results but somehow United has made a worst start under Mourinho than Van Gaal’s last season.
Liverpool are likely to go with a Firmino upfront as lone striker while Coutinho and Lallana to play in attacking roles behind the Brazilian. James Milner, Henderson and .Lucas Laiva to play in central midfield roles. This is how I expect both teams to lineup.
Predictions:Louis Van Gaal seems to know how to beat Liverpool as in the 4 games he has played against them United has won all of them. But this Liverpool side is a tough nut to crack since Klopp took over, victories over other big teams like City do make Liverpool a team with considerable threat. I expect Liverpool to win But United might go through since they are playing second leg at home.

45′ [ First Half ] Absolute lackluster first half saw both teams failing to break the deadlock. But it was United who played better.
90′ [ Second Half ] If United were slightly better in First, Liverpool played much more aggressive in second half. De Gea’s wonder save of Coutinho’s long range effort and Zlatan’s miss on Pogba’s cross were highlights of second half.
