Manchester United took on Chelsea in the premier league game on Sunday, 07 February 2016 at Stamford Bridge and it turned out a very tight game as both sides canceled each other out in the first half. Manchester United took the lead in second half with Jese Lingard scoring with quick turn and shoot.
Jesse Lingard second half goal was not enough to see off Chelsea at Stamford Bridge when his quick turn and shoot beat Thibaut Courtois for United’s first and only goal of the game but Diego Costa equalised in injury time to keep Chelsea’s unbeaten record going.
Manchester United started the game stronger of the two sides with Martial causing havoc on the left flank. He ran circles around Ivanovic and forced Thibaut Courtois in couple of good saves but Chelsea started to control the game before the half time and had couple of chances to take the lead.
The game finished 0-0 at the break and Chelsea were the ones went into the break slightly happier after seeing off the challenge from United in opening 45 minutes.

Manchester United can go within 2 points of the champions league places if they can get three points against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. A impressive win might just put United back into the title race if the other results go United way but for that they need to beat Guus Hiddink’s Chelsea who has been unbeaten since he took over after Mourinho was sacked. So United face a massive task this week but they are more than capable enough of getting it done.
Team News & Lineups:Wayne Rooney has been in resurgent form having scored 7 in 7 games for United and he will be leading United’s attack alongside Martial and Lingard while Juan Mata, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger might start in midfield.
Chelsea on the other hand will are still sweating over Eden Hazard fitness but he might be able to start against United this weekend. Costa is set to lead the forward line with Oscar, Willian providing support from midfield. Job Obi Mikel and Matic to play in central midfield roles while Cesc might be given a no.10 role behind Cost.
Predictions: This premier league season has been so unpredictable and with United and Chelsea both having a below par season its hard predict. But like the earlier game between the two sides which ended 0-0 we might see another boring affair with Chelsea parking the bus while United trying to control the match. Having said that United’s recent form has been pretty decent as they have only lost 1 in the last 6 games and I can see Rooney continue his scoring run with another strike against Chelsea.
Manchester United hosted Chelsea in the premier league game on monday night and the pressure was on United having lost three back to back league games. But surprisingly they played superbly for most of the first 45 minutes hitting woodwork twice through Mata and Martial but failed to open the scoring. Chelsea sit deep and invited United to attack in hope to catch them on the counter.
Manchester United turned on the show against Chelsea with dominating the whole game at Old Trafford. They played fast paced football and created alot more chances in game than they have done earlier in the season. Juan Mata and Anthony Martial hit the woodwork in first half where United absolute bossed Chelsea. Only thing missing was the goal
