Tottenham hotspurs take on Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League 2016-17 group F game on Wednesday night, 02 November 2016. Its a massive game for both teams chances of qualifying for knockout stages in a group which is very close and only three points seperate the four teams. The match will be played at White Hart Lane in London and BT Sports will have live coverage of the game.
Match Highlights (English)
Tottenham has played three and they have only won one game so far in the competition which came away from home against CSKA Moscow. The game against Leverkusen holds significant importance for both teams chances and they are coming into this game on the back of a 0-0 draw two weeks ago in Germany. Tottenham has been struggling to get into full gear at the moment but this is one game where they can put things right.
Leverkusen has a solid strike force where Javier Hernandez is set to start upfront veteran Keissling while Aranguiz, Mehmedi, Kampl and turkish hot shot Calhanoglu will make the midfield. Spurs on the other hand will be without Harry Kane but Vincent Janssen will start upfront Son, Alli and Eriksson playing in attacking roles ahead of midfield duo Dembele and Wanyama.
This is is how I expect both teams to lineup on Wednesday night in what is a very crucial game for both sides.
A win for Tottenham will put them 4 points clear of Leverkusen and if CSKA hold out Monaco, Spurs might find them top of the group with two games to play. While a win for Leverkusen and Monaco on Wednesday night will put Tottenham’s chances of qualifying for knockout stages in serious trouble.
Predictions: Spurs have been solid at the back for most part but they are struggling to score goals. 5 draws in the opening 10 league games shows they are more than capable enough to keep teams at the bay but going forward they are missing Harry Kane. However I think they will have enough about them to get narrow win at home against a difficult opponent.
