Liverpool hosted Tottenham hotspurs in the Premier League game on Saturday evening at Anfield in a bid to win their first league game in 2017. Jurgen Klopp’s men made incredible start to the game scoring twice inside first 20 minutes thanks to Sadio Mane who finished off both chances. Tottenham looked tired and everything Liverpool did they looked a notch faster and more agile throughout first half. However If Tottenham were to score early in second half we have a game at hour hands.

Jurgen Klopp Interview:
Tottenham vs Liverpool Preview: Liverpool and Tottenham were the most improved teams at the start of the season however since than Spurs have kept themselves in the title race while Liverpool’s terrible start to 2017 has kind of put them in real trouble for even taking the top 4 spot. Going into this weekend, Liverpool are 5th in the table just 1 point ahead of United and 1 behind Arsenal who are fourth.
A superb start to the season which saw Liverpool as potential challengers to Chelsea, has been undone by string of poor results where reds have yet to win a premier league game in 2017.
Liverpool 2-1 Tottenham
[ English League Cup – Fourth Round Tie ]
09′ 1 – 0 Daniel Sturridge scored in just 9th minute of the game to put Liverpool 1-0 as Spurs misery at Anfield continue.
64′ 2 – 0 Daniel Sturridge was on hand to score the second after he beat the offside trap and poked home after fining himself 1-v-1 with keeper.
76′ 2 – 1 Vincent Janssen scores from penalty spot to make it 2-1 and gave Spurs 10 minutes to get back on level terms.
Liverpool knocked out Tottenham in fourth round of EFL Cup while a 1-1 draw earlier in the season at White Hart Lane was a good result for both teams. However going into the business end of the season this one is a must win for both teams. Klopp however will take heart from the fact that they will be playing just 14 games from now to end of the season which give them enough time to prepare every match as a cup final to ensure they finish in top 4. Spurs on the other hand will be playing in Europa League and FA Cup which means two games a week making their finish to the season harder than Liverpool.
This is how expect both teams to lineup this Saturday evening.
Match Predictions: Every premier league game is hard to predict this season but Liverpool are even more unpredictable having taken points of City, Arsenal and Chelsea but sometimes struggle against bottom clubs. Spur’s has been superb this season and part of the reason is their consistent form but they do have problem when it comes to playing against traditional big teams in the league. I am going with another draw but this time both teams to score.
