Miguel Cotto will earn his biggest purse of the career against Canelo Alvarez where $10million is guaranteed and he is looking at $30 million in total earnings from the fight with Sponsorship and PPV bonus. Canelo on the other hand is “B Side” and will earn $6.5m guaranteed.
It will be a HBO PPV event on 21st November 2015 and many boxing experts believed that this is the biggest boxing fight with Floyd Mayweather. The fight tickets are not announced yet but 12,000 Mandalay Bay Arena is expected to be fully booked and tickets will be hard to come by while the PPV is expected to be priced at $64.95 and HBO are looking at atleast a 1.5 million buys.
How much Cotto makes in the fight depends on how the PPV sales go about his previous biggest purse was $8 million against Floyd Mayweather.
While Canelo’s biggest purse was $5million guaranteed against Mayweather and his most recent fight against Kirkland netted him $3.5 million. Now if Alavarez were to beat Cotto his stock will go sky high and his future purse will increase significantly making him a true PPV star.
