Danny Garcia is set to take on Shawn Porter for the vacant WBC welterweight title on Saturday, 08 September 2018 in Brooklyn, New York. The winner of this fight will have a chance of unify the welterweight division at 147 pounds category. Both Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter are no longer the main draw in welterweight division where Terence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr are tauted as the leading contenders. Having said that, Garcia-Porter have enough interest to generate decent revenue from the fight which will be the main draw on multi-fight card.

The fight is orignally scheduled for 25 August 2018 but it is moved a couple of weeks later and now takes place on Saturday, 08 September 2018. There will be several undercard fights to be announced at least couple of weeks before the fight and once announced we will update this page.
Shawn Porter has been fighting his way up after that defeat from Keith Thurman couple of years ago and his recent fights against Andre Berto and Adrian Granados (both wins) has put him in mandatory position for the WBC welterweight title and he takes on former champion Danny Garcia who is also coming into this fight on the road to recovery after that unanimous decision defeat in the hands of Kieth Thurman.
