IBF Super-bantamweight champion Carl Frampton will be taking on WBA Super-bantamweight title holder Scott Quigg in all british affair on Saturday, 27 February 2016 at the Manchester Arena. Its a massive domestic fight which will be broadcasted live in the UK on Sky Box Office as Pay Per View. Eddie Hearns and his matchroom promotions offered Carl Fampton a guaranteed £1.5 million ($2.17m) to fight Scott Quigg and after long hard negotiations Frampton agreed for the fight.
Scott Quigg on the other hand will have far less guaranteed purse of just around £500,000 ($725,000) but his potential earnings from the night depend on how the Sky Box Office PPV do in terms of sales. Eddie Hearns is confident that Scott Quigg can make as much as Frampton if they PPV goes as planned.
FIGHTER | Guaranteed Purse | PPV SHARE |
Carl Frampton | £1.5 million | Frampton has a guaranteed purse but no ppv share |
Scott Quigg | £500,000 | Scott Quigg will get percentage of PPV revenue if numbers reach the target 500,000+ buys |
But there is alot more than just money at stake as the winner will unify the bantamweight division and move to bigger and better fights in the future. Having said that Scott Quigg has alot to lose in this fight as he risk losing his title, might take a £1 million hit if PPV don’t go well and a defeat can put him into the shadow of Frampton for the remainder of his career.
The Frampton vs Quigg fight card has been finalized with several England vs Ireland theme fights and Sky Box Office will start the build-up in the fight week with dedicated programs and extensive coverage.
