The boxing fight which the fans has been craving about for the best part of last 6 years is finaly becoming a reality with Mayweather confirming today that he is ready to fight Pacquiao and they are already in talks for the planned 2nd May mega event in MGM grand Las Vegas. It will easily be the richest fight in the history of boxing with Mayweather getting the lion share of the purse.
Today talking with showtime (the company he has a 6 fight contract), Mayweather said that he is confident that his next fight will be against Manny Pacquiao on 2nd may and it will happen without a question. Which means this is the closest we have come in last 5 years to get the fight done.
|02 May 2015||MGM Grand, Las Vegas||Showtime||$300+million|
Of course fans will still be hoping to get the official confirmation as soon as possible because the last time when media reported that contract is signed by both parties (back in november 2009), they fight never materialized and part of the reason was Floyd Mayweather asking for olympic style blood and urine test ahead of the bout but Pacquiao camp declined.
Today we take a look at timeline of last 5 years on how one of the biggest fights in boxing could never happened and here both parties are to be blamed.
