Miguel Cotto is set for what look like his last hurray in the ring as he takes on James Kirkland in HBO’s PPV event on Saturday, 25th February 2017 in Frisco, Texas. It is a very underwhelming headlining fight for a PPV event but Cotto’s career is on the downward slide since his defeat in the hands of Canelo Alvarez back in November 2015. James Kirkland on the other hand also lost in his most recent outing against Canelo but he was knocked out cold in what was regarded as knockout of the year. Now HBO has their work cut out to sell this PPV and they are trying hard to put together a loaded undercard where Guillermo Rigondeaux vs Moises Flores is already confirmed and we can expect couple of more quality fights.
Cotto vs Kirkland TV Coverage Details: We can safely assume HBO will try to sell the PPV on much cheaper price than their usual title fights which cost around $50 bucks. HBO will do very well if they will charge this PPV at max from $10 to $20 anything above that and they will struggle to even get 100,000 buys.
Undercards: HBO PPV headlined by Cotto-Kirkland fight will get underway on Saturday, 25th February 2017 at around 9 p.m ET / 6 p.m PT. HBO are promising a four fight PPV card plus 1 hour of freeview coverage of preliminary fights before the PPV gets underway one of the free-view fight include Maurice Hooker vs Juan Pablo Lopez.
