Australian Cricketer’s Salaries 2017 (CA Central Contracts)

Cricket Australia has a very rigid central contract system for the men’s national cricket team. Consistent test players are given a 12 month central contract with “Cricket Australia Board” where they are paid a guaranteed yearly retainer fee of AU$900,000 a year and players also notch up match fee for appearing in any test, odi or t20 international matches. Contracts are announced every year in March and below is the list 2016-17 central contract players and their compensation.

Australian board announced the central contract for period of April 2016 to March 2017. 20 players were included in the current central contract.

Below is the list of all the contracted players, their yearly salaries and match fee for appearing in every Test, ODI or T20 match. Michael Clark has since been retired and Steven Smith earns 25% more retainer fee as a “captain bonus”

Team & Individual Performance Related Bonuses: Apart from yearly retainer salaries and per match based fees, Australian cricket also get massive performance related bonuses. Every Australian in the ODI Squad which won the 2015 cricket world cup got AU$365,000 bonus.

They can earn another AU350,000 for winning the twenty20 world cup in 2016. Apart from that there are individual performance related bonuses such as scoring a hundred or taking 5 wickets in an innings or ODI match can get double the match fee.

      Oh I don’t know maybe they would make as much if they were as good of an athlete. Plus, where do you think the women’s cricket association are going to get their money from? Face it. No one watches it.

    Anyone earning (and I use the term loosely) $900,000 + needs no extra income

    These top players are getting grossly over paid, extra money needs to go to the girls and the clubs. Club cricket is where these guys started and they need to give more to the clubs and kids.

    And if ein ODI or 20 Matches they’ll getting $350,000 for ODI 360,000 FOR 20 As a BONUS each if they’ll Win plus even extra if score a hunder runs or get 5 wickets in a innings an THEY got the hide to ask gor more fuck me give the whole lot the SACK and put players in tbat want to play

    Bloody hell! That is way too much to pay anyone, especially for sport. Reallocate the money to the homeless, they wouldn’t strike for more. Greedy is all.
