Widely known as “DD”, Delhi has retained 18 players from 2016 squad including 13 local indian players and 5 foreign players. They have retained the services of Quinton de Kock and KP Duminy while Zaheer Khan will continue to lead the team for 2017 season.
Delhi Daredevils 2017 Auction Results: With ₹21.50 crores available for 2017 Auction Delhi were the most active team in Auction bringing in several quality players. They spent big on two foreign bowlers Kagiso Rabada was bought for ₹5 crore followed by Pat Cummins (₹4.5 crore). Delhi Daredevils are owned by infrastructure company “GMR Group” and based in the capital of the country. GMR group splashed $84 million to purchase the Delhi Daredevils back in 2008 but even with quality squads their never lived up to the expectations in the first 9 IPL season. Their most recent outing in 2016 was another abysmal display where they could only win 6 games and finished second from bottom. Delhi Daredevils Auction 2017 Results: Delhi has released as many 7 and retained only 18 players before the auction leaving them with massive Rs. 21.5 crores budget. Which pretty much means they are set to go after some big names. We can expect them to buy couple of quality foreign players and number of potential stars from Indian domestic circuit and youngsters.
