India will be hosting T20 world cup 2016 starting from 08 March 2016 with the preliminary qualifying round while the Super 10 stage will being on 15th March. Currently India are on Australia tour where they lost 5 match ODI series and set to play three Twenty20 games as part of preparations for T20 world cup. This might very well be the last big tournament for Dhoni who is all set to retire this summer.
Possible India Team Squad for Twenty20 World Cup: All participating teams must announce their 15-man squad at least two weeks before the competition begins which means the final 15-man squad for India is expected to be officially announce by BCCI by 24th February 2016. Once the squad is announce we will update here until than We take a look at possible candidates to be included in the 15-man squad.
Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra were included in the T20 squad which is set to play three 20-over matches against AUstralia in January 2016. It was a surprise inclusion as not many people saw it coming. Along with Veteran Yuvraj and Nehra, BCCI also handed t20 call-ups to three youngsters Brainder Sran and Hardik Pandya. Their performances in the 3 T20 will be crucial for their chances to retain their place in the T20 world cup squad as Manish Pandey was one of the few positives from Australia series so far and he might get the nod for T20 world cup as well.
Muhammad Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar who were selected for the T20s against Australi, withdrew from the squad after injuries. Rishi Dhawan and Jasprit Bumrah were sent as their replacements.

Dhoni will continue to captain India in the T20 until the T20 world cup finishes. He is very likely to step down not only as captain but might retire from all international formats of cricket after the big world cup. Sureish Raina who has played 46 T20 matches is included in the T20 squad but he was dropped from ODIs. His performances against Australia are key for his inclusion in T20 world cup.
India T20 World Cup Schedule:
India has been placed in the Group 2 of Super 10 stage with Pakistan, Australia, New Zealand and a team who will qualify from the preliminary round. India will start their campaign against New Zealand in Nagpur on 15th March, a match against fierce rivals Pakistan on 19th March in Dharamsala, India to play against Qualified team on 23 March and the last group game will be against Australia on 27th March in Mohali.
