Kolkata Knight Riders had already retained 14 players from last year’s squad and they went big in the IPL auction 2017 spending big on Trent Boult (₹5 crore), Chris Woakes (₹4.2 crore) and Nathan Coulter-Nile (₹3.5 crore) to balance out their squad.

Kolkata Knight Riders Team Squad 2017 
The most glamorous team in Indian Premier League, Kolkata Knight Riders, Owned by bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan. Kolkata Knight Riders were disappointingly bad in first few IPL seasons but they came out triumph in 2012 and 2014 winning IPL title twice. This year they will be one of the favourites again to lift the trophy.
Kolkata Knight Riders IPL Auctions 2017 Results: Kolkata Knight Riders has released 9 players from their squad which leaves them their work cut out in Auction 2017 to put together a decent and balanced squad. With 19.75 crore available to spent they should be able to get couple of marque signings and some good young talent from Indian market.

Expectations ?
Kolkata has kept Jacquis Kallis as team mentor and batting consultant for 2017 season and they will need him alot looking at their possible batting lineup. Wasim Akram however left the team as bowling coach. Gambhir is very consistent in the opening slot but they need big hitters who can turn things around.
