Cricket world cup 2015 is set to become first major sports competition to have two opening ceremonies taking place on the same day 12 February 2015. Since the world cup is co-hosted in Australia and New Zealand both countries decided to go ahead with their own ceremonies taking place on the opening day. The Australian version of the opening ceremony will take place in city of Melbourne at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the entrance will be free but ticketed while New Zealand will host their opening ceremony in Christchurch’s North Hagley Park. 1st CWC 2015 Opening Ceremony – Melbourne, Australia:
The primary or main ceremony will take place in Sidney Myer Music Bowl located in Melbourn and local authorities and Austrialian cricket board has promised one hell of a show on the day with all World Cup teams & players making an appearance in order with local cultural and musical performance by artists and students followed by traditional fireworks stuff and one special event which has not been disclosed. 2nd CWC 2015 Opening Ceremony – Christchurch, New Zealand:
New Zealand will also host their own opening ceremony in a very unique style which will last several hours starting with a classic kiwi style pastime activities like backyard cricket which will have local team players and their will be food stalls from other 13 participating countries.
At 09:00 PM local time the main even will begin where some of the New Zealand legend cricketers will make an appearence while there will be couple of music performances from some known kiwi artist and than the biggest fireworks in the history of Christchurch.
