West Indies cricket board has confirmed a 7 week tour of Pakistan starting from 31st March 2017. Pakistan will play 2 T20, 3 ODI and 3 Test Matches in a 2 month long tour which is the first by Pakistan team in Caribbeans since 2013. The tour begins with Two twenty20 matches to be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad & Tobago. Followed by a 3-match ODI series where all three games will be played in Guyana.
West Indies vs Pakistan 2017 Schedule: Pakistan will arrive in West Indies in the last week of March and first T20 will be played on 31st March 2017. 3 Match ODI series will be played from 7 to 11th April followed by 3 test matches starting from 22 april and will be played through 14th May. Pakistan vs West Indies ODI series is key to World Cup 2019 qualification: ODI series between the two holds significant importance as both teams are likely to fight it out for last automatic qualification spot for 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. Currently Pakistan are ranked 8th in the ODIs while West Indies are 3 points behind Pakistan. The cutoff date for automatic qualification for 2019 World Cup is September 2017. By which time top 8 ODI ranked team will confirm their qualification to next world cup while 9th and 10th ranked teams will play in the qualifying round. If West Indies fail to overtake Pakistan in ODI ranking by September 2017 they will have to play qualifying round in Bangladesh.
