ICC confirmed that Pakistan and Indian cricket ties will resume with first of 6 series planned in the next eight years which opens a new horizen in Pakistan-India relations. The first series is set to take place somewhere in December 2015 at Pakistan crickets adopted home in UAE. The initial plan is to arrange a two Tests, five ODIs and two T20s series.
Pakistan vs Indian Cricket Schedule In 8 Year ICC FTP Cycle:
When ICC announced their next 8 year provisional bilateral schedule, Pakistan were awared around 77 test matches in the period of 8 years and slots for Pakistan vs Indian test matches which will be atleast 12 in next 8 years. So if we look at Pakistan’s Future tours we can see that number of test matches has been increase and here is the lsit of proposed tours both Pakistan and India has agreed.
|TOUR DATE||HOME TEAM||TESTS||ODIs||T20s|
|December 2015||Pakistan (UAE)||2||5||2|
|December 2019||Pakistan (UAE)||2||5||2|
|July 2020||Pakistan (UAE)||5 odis only|
|November 2022||Pakistan (UAE)||2||5||2|
Although both boards as confirmed and agreed for the above tours but actual cricket can only be played if both countries agree at the political level. Actually BCCI has agreed to the above 6 series but with a clause in the contract “subject to government clearance“.
Having said that if these tours were to be become reality Pakistan cricket Board (PCB) will definitely get some huge windfall over the next 8 years from Pakistan vs Indian series. But 2 test match in each of the series Pakistan will host is a joke. Pakistan vs Indian cricket has always been competitive and why not agree for atleast 3 if not 4 or 5 test matches ?
Looks like whatever BCCI has to throw at PCB they have to swallow which is a shame really after that big three fiasco we can see that how BCCI are flexing their muscles going forward. But there are 30 proposed ODI matches in the same time frame and every series has 5 ODI matches atleast which is good for limited over cricket.
