FIA and Formula One authorities has already announced some of the rule changes which will come into play from 2015 season, some of them changes are good while others are debatable, first we take a look at the confirmed rule changes and than we move the the four changes which fans would like to see starting from next season. Here are some of the rules FIA has announced so far.
- 4 engines per driver in a season: Drivers are only allowed to use 4 engines unlike previous seasons where they could use 5.
- Standing restarts: FIA announced that with taking safety measures into considerations, formula 1 2015 season will use standing restart in case the safety car is deployed.
- Ugly nose bans: No longer the ugly nose design as number of regulations concerning car nose and skid blocks will be emplyed.
- Young drivers to be used during in-season tests: There will be two in-season tests of two days each and young drivers will be used on 1 day of each test.
This standing restart thing will kind of kill the excitement as it can potentially hurt chances of the driver leading before the use restart. Every year news rules are coming up and their is not much of a credibility for a champions because every season something new comes up. Here are some of the rules I would like to see either go or brought in.
No more double points for last race of the season:
Had Nico Rosberg won the last race of the season and Hamilton finished outside top 5 it would have been Rosberg who would go onto win the championship. How cruel that would have been ? so this is one rule I would like F1 to get rid of because this rule might take away the title from a deserving champion.
Young Driver to be used in free practice session:
Although F1 has announced that teams must use young drivers in the in-season tests but I would like them introduce some rule which will force teams to use young drivers atleast in one of the free practice sessions every race weekend.
More drivers will get the exposure to real thing and it won’t hurt teams chances. Its crazy how little these young drivers are used.
Tougher track limits:
There are white lines on the tracks and they are there for a reason, any driver is not allowed to put all four wheels outside it but how often we see drivers doing it ? either to overtake or in qualifying rounds. I would like F1 to impose penalties if a driver has gain lasting unfair advantage
Apart from that I dont really care how the car looks like, all we fans want is good racing. F1 is a great racing series only made a bit boring by so many rules and regulations. What is your take on this subject ? what would you do to make F1 more entertaining and interesting ? let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
