Atletico Madrid brought in Diego Costa for a massive £59.40 million transfer fee from Chelsea and they also added Vitolo for £32.40m in their already quality squad in the summer transfer window of 2017. Antoine Griezmann signed a massive 4 year deal to remain with the club till 2022 and making him the highest paid player at the club with £200,000 a week salary.
Atletico Madrid Wage Bill: Spanish La Liga’s overall average wage has been on the increase in last 5 years and with new competitive TV deals La Liga clubs are set to get more fair share of TV money which eventually have direct impact on player wages. Atletico Madrid’s wage bill increased as much as 10% in 2017-18 from rising from £164m to £180m. Thats largely down to several high profile players extending their contracts with the club.
