We haven’t had much of improvement in any of the past 2 to 3 Codemasters F1 game franchise titles and the last game which I really liked was F1 2010 but since than franchise has kind of gone backwards. We do have a bit of better graphics by the game physics and engine has gone downhill spiral since 2010. Back in July 2014 codemasters confirmed that there will be another title which will be released as early as May 2015 but the game name has not been confirmed yet and F1 Creative Director Steve Hood has left the company but as the things stand we will surely get another installment in pretty much doomed F1 franchse by codemasters.
The 2015 version might turnout to be a make or break for the series that is why codemasters has been very secretive regarding any updates about the game but they did confirm that they are working from the scratch to build a new engine and develop a better gameplay experience based on real life aero-dynamics. So today we decided to take a look at some of the new features which we would love to see in the new game and how codemasters can improve the game.
F1 2015 – New Ideas & Wish-List
I have been a massive Formula 1 fan and rarely miss a raceweekend, I blog about the sport as well and also interested in behind the scene stuff (f1 money etc) and inevitably love formula 1 games and having played the last three I can safely say that Codemasters has not made any major improvements in the game if anything they have gone backwards so here is my wish-list for next version of the game.
Smarter AI & Difficulty Level: Even after turning out most of the driving aids in the game I managed to win championship with Toro Rosso which is a shame really, thats largely down to very predictable and cautioned AI cars which leaves a bad taste in the mouth even after winning championship in harder difficulty. I think next version can very well do much better with increased difficulty level combined with more competitive and intelligent AI cars where certain drivers has their real time counter parts attributes, making AI unpredictable. Some AI drivers should go for a certain overtaking menuever and some won’t unlike in previous versions where most of the time AI backs off from overtaking.
Improved PIT & Damage graphics: I usually don’t really care about the graphics but I have to say that codemaster need to do a better job at designing pit and garage graphics which are shambles at the moment and they can also do bit of work on cars damaging graphics.
Multiplayer Modes: First thing on the agenda here is “fixing the lag”. I have a very good connection but F1 game lags badly online most of the time, you overtake someone and couple of frames later he is ahead of you. Include replays in multiplayer modes, its a big thing to see the race replay or certain part of the race against human opponents. Include a few more online game modes in the game or let us edit and make our own mini league where people can join and we race over the course of several races.
