Colombia has defeated Senegal in their last group game and qualify for the knockout stages as group winners. Senegal just needed a point to confirm their place in knockout stages but a defeat against Colombia made their goal difference just as same as Japan who qualify as runners-up from this group on the basis of fair play regulations.
Last day of World Cup group stage matches will be played on Thursday, 28th June 2018 and group H is still wide open with any of the three teams (Colombia, Senegal and Japan) with a chance to book their place in the round of 16. Colombia play Senegal with winner going to first knockout stages while Japan take on Poland and need at least a point to book their place in next round. Its all to play for in what will be another cracking day of football.
Colombia went on to beat Poland and got themselves back in the reckoning as far as qualification to knockout rounds are concerned. Now they just need to get a win against Senegal and they will qualify regardless of the other results. Poland on the other hand are knocked of the world cup after losing their first two games. Mina, Falcao and Cuadrado were on the score-sheet.
Colombia vs Senegal Preview: The equation is simple, Colombia must win against Senegal to qualify for knockout stages a draw might be enough but they would need Poland to beat Japan. Senegal on the other hand can book their place in knockouts if they can get a draw and a win might give them top spot in the group if Japan win by less margin or drop points.
Colombia is expected to start with full strength side and Senegal will be hoping to avoid the mistakes they suffered against Japan last week. This pretty much a knockout tie before knockouts and winner takes all kind of game.
Colombia Upcoming Match Schedule: Colombia start their World Cup campaign with the opening game against Japan, they take on Poland and Senegal in the remaining two matches in a bid to qualify for knockout stages
