New European national team competition called “UEFA Nations League” gets underway with a mouth watering match between current world champions France and 2014 champions Germany. The game will take place on Thursday night, 06 September 2018 at the Allianz Arena in Munich Germany. If you don’t know about the UEFA Nations League and its format you better head to wikipedia or UEFA site as it is a very complex new competition.
German vs France Preview: France will play their very first competitive game as World Champions against Germany in what should be a cracking game at Allianz Arena and this tournament could not have start with a better tie. Both German and France are in Group A of League A alongside Holland and the group winners will play the semifinals of the tournament.
Joachim Löw has brought back Leroy Sane into the squad as it was expected and he is likely to start alongside Reus and Muller in the three man attacking midfield behind Timo Werner. Ikay Gündogan has been selected in the squad after recent controversies surrounding players with Turkish heritage.
France on the other hand are expected to start with the same lineup which took the field against Croatia in the final of 2018 FIFA World Cup. Three man attack with Mbappe, Griezmann and Giroud while Matuidi, Pogba and Kante to start in central midfield roles. This is how I expect both teams to lineup.
Match Predictions: France will be looking to impose their authority on what is a very fragile German side after early world cup exit and of course the controversies surrounding the squad selection and stuff. France will be clear favourites if they start with their full strength side but you can never rule out Germans specially playing at home.
