Liverpool are set to take on Wigan Athletic in the friendly game on Friday night, 14th July 2017 and the game will be played at the Wigan’s DW Stadium. Liverpool has already played one pre-season game as part of the extensive tour programe this year when they defeated Tranmare Rovers 4-0 couple of days ago. Liverpool will travel to Asia as they play Premier League Asia Trophy match against Crystal Palace and yet to be announced team. Liverpool’s game against Wigan Athletic will be played on Friday, 14th July 2017 at the DW Stadium and it will kickoff at around 19:30 uk time. The game will not be televised on any of the big channels on either UK or US but you can get the live action through Liverpool official channel LFCTV both on their website and mobile app.
Match Preview & Team Lineups: Jurgen Klopp is likely to use as many players as possible during the game just like in the opening friendly games two days ago when Liverpool fielded two different teams in either half. Record signing Muhammad Salah will have to wait for another week for his debut in Liverpool shirt due to visa issues. While Sadio Mane and Danny Ings are ruled out and Emre Can is given extended break. Rest of the big names set to feature include Adam Lallana, Henderson, Mignolet, Coutinho and Firmino etc. There are a few players still doubt including Lovren, Origi and Moreno.
Liverpool also played Wigan last year during pre-season and they won 2-0 thanks to goals from Danny Ings (who is missing due to long term injury) and youngster Woodburn.
Wigan Athletic were relegated from Championship last year and will be playing in League one this year. They have some decent players in their lineups and should pose more threat than what Tranmare Rovers did in the opening game. Liverpool also played a friendly against Wigan last year during pre-season which they won 2-0 and we can expect another similar result on Friday night.
