Manchester United 3-0 Shrewsbury Town Highlights (FA Cup)

February 22, 2016 By totalsportek2

Manchester United went into the game against Shrewsbury Town under massive pressure but they did turn up dominating the first half with 79% possession and scored twice in the first half to pretty much end the conest. Chris Smalling scored with a unconvincing shot which beat keeper at the far post while Mata added the scored through superb freekick from the edge of the box.

A welcome break for Louis Van Gaal as United strolled past Shrewsbury Town into the quarter finals of 2016 FA Cup. United dominated the game and scored two goals in the first half and added another in second to make it easy nights work.

Manchester United 2-1 Shrewsbury Town – Match Highlights

Manchester United vs Midtjylland Highlights
Manchester United vs Shrewsbury Highlights: BBC One will broadcast the game live in the UK while FoxSports to broadcast the game live in United States. We will have the highlights of this game right here on this page immediately after the game is over. The game is suppose to kickoff at around 19:45 uk time.

This is one game Louis Van Gaal definitely can not afford to lose and in all fairness this is United’s only chance of getting some silverware this season and we can expect a full strength side on monday night. United are coming into this game on the back of back to back defeat against Sunderland and the Europa League surprising result of United losing 2-1 in denmark against Midtelland.

Sergio Romero set to keep his place in the United goal after David De Gea suffered injury in the last match and there are number of other players with longterm injuries still missing. Lingard, Mata and Memphis Depay are set to play in attacking roles behind Anthony Martial with Herrera and Carrick playing in central midfield roles.

Shrewsbury Town are currently sitting just 1 place above the relegation zone in league one and on paper United should just stroll pass them with the kind of players they have in the squad. But looking at United’s form and it being an away fixture the upset might be on the cards. This is how I expect both teams to lineup on Monday.

Predictions: Martial, Mata, Depay and Lingard should have enough in their locker to score atleast a couple of goals and United can count on their defense to keep Shrewsbury Town attack in check. I am going with a comfortable win for United in this one but that does not mean Van Gaal will be safe and he might get the sack within a week regardless of the result in FA Cup and Europa League game in midweek.
