Since the re-branding of English top flight division 1 to English Premier league in 1992, one team has dominated english football above all, Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United who has won the title 13 times in the last 25 years and only four teams has manage to break their dominance albeit temporarily. Blackburn Rovers were the first team to win the title other than Manchester United back in 1994/95 season when under Kenny Dalgish and of course new owner Jack Walker who injected millions in the club to take them from league 1 to all the way premier league winners in very short span of time. But Blackburn failed to build on their success and got relegated a few years later.
It took another three years after Blackburns premier league win for other team to break United’s record breaking success when Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal won the title in 1997-98. But United bite back and won three back to back titles including the famous 1998-99 season where they became first english club to win treble of trophies. United’s next title was in 2002-03 season which was sandiwched between Arsenal’s 2001-02 and 2003-04 titles before Jose Mourinho took over Chelsea and won back to back Premier League titles in 2004-05 and 2005-06 seasons. That lead to Sir Alex developing another great team with the likes of Ronaldo, Rooney spearheading United’s attack as they won three back to back titles for the second time since 1992. Here is the list of all Premier League winners since 1992 to 2005.
lol tottenham are not runner ups no more, :0
Can #ASteppingStoneClub for #YoungReleasedPlayers get to #ChampionsLeague?
Whenever you think that parity is dying in NCAA Football…. just know it could be much much worse.
Chelsea Bought titles author is so brainwashed and is trying hard to send his worthless thoughts to his readers. Even Manu bought players cantona was a record signing back then it broke EPL record every team in epl spends and manu is no different stop spreading the hate towards Chelsea. Even now paul pogba was the costliest mistake but nobody bats an eye. Baised
Yes Man United are rich and they bought good players. However it was usually 1 or 2 expensive players a season, most of their talent was from within, yes the players they bought made a difference but they didn’t buy half a team every transfer window like Chelsea and City. In the last 13 years how many players have gone through the academy to first team at Chelsea or City, probably ONE! But I would say Man United have been trying to buy the league in the last 3-5 years though.
Manchester united have proved that you cannot buy success with money in last 4-5 yrs. You have to build a team anyway, with players from academy or brought from outside.
The reason for United’s dominance in Premier League era really and truly comes down to Alex Ferguson. If you look at the teams he managed you couldn’t say they were so much greater in ability as individuals than, say, a Liverpool or an Arsenal. But as a team, they were great. It seemed as if their collective motto was “fortune favors the bold” and “do or die” considering the sheer amount of risk taking and bravado that they displayed on the pitch. But coupled with that daring was a lot power and ruthlessness where it counted (in midfield and upfront, namely). United were like that guy you know who always backs himself in whatever situation and that he was the special favorite of fortune and would take a lot chances in life, yet would usually succeed. It came to the point where other teams would back United to score against them, especially during the dying stages of matches.
United dominated due to the profession that sir Alex had in his first 7 years at united. Inadditional the management was pacient with Sir Alex
Man Utd were buying the title for years! Then suddenly when other clubs start spending big everyone points the finger and accuses them of buying titles! The Author of this thread is clearly a Man Utd fan and has a biased opinion.
Right on point! They could buy Ferdinand for that amount back then which no other clubs could. Now they sit here and talk shit. United have spent more money than Chelsea in the last 4 seasons yet nothing to show for it! Suck it Up haters. It’s 2017!
Yes united have spent more money than Chelsea in last four years with nothing to show for it
The perfect explanation as Chelsea and Man City win title by expending huge mony for transfering players only for thropy not for playing football.
So what I gather is this thus: Even including Chelsea’s 2016/2017 title win, Manchester United has more premier league trophies than all the other Teams Premier league trophies combined. 13-12 #Dominance
Of course United won by spending more money than other teams. The Yankees in Major League Baseball did the same thing. That is why only sports with salary caps give teams with less money a chance of winning.
