FC Barcelona has agreed a record breaking (€60m a year) shirt sponsorship extension with Qatar Airways which will take their current contract to 2018-2019 season. This shirt deal is second most expensive behind Manchester United-Chevrolet. See the financial details below.
Looks like FC Barcelona are not only winning trophies on the pitch but they are also signing lucrative deals outside the pitch as well. Reports in Spain suggest that Barcelona has extended their shirt sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways for another 3 years with improved financial terms which will take the contract to 2018-19 season. Barcelona’s current shirt sponsorship with Qatar Airways was a 5 year deal (2011-16) worth €30 million a year. But with the new deal Barcelona will be getting a massive €60 million a year which is more than double a year compared to last deal.
