Inter Milan are set to ditch long-term shirt sponsor Pirreli as they move close to secure a record breaking shirt sponsorship deal with Etihad Airways. The deal is set to be finalised in coming weeks and set to begin at the start of next years. Inter Milan’s longterm deal (Since 1995) with Pirreli will expire at the end of 2015-16 season and they are free to sign a new contract. Etihad Airways are reportedly offering €25 million a-year for next 5 years making it the most lucrative sponsorship deal in Italy.
Reports in Italy suggest that Inter Milan were eager to renew the shirt sponsorship with Pirreli (tyre company) but only at improved financial terms but Pirreli failed to match Inter’s asking price.
