Manchester City Player Salaries 2018-19 (Bonus Related Contracts Revealed)

March 23, 2022 By totalsportek2

Manchester City have installed a wage system with much more emphasis on bonus related contracts since 2014 and that has helped the club to reduce its wage bill from record £216 million in 2013-14 season to £198m in 2016-17 season. However with the arrival of Pep Guardiola to Manchester City the club has spent absolute fortune over the last two seasons and their wage bill is the highest in Premier League again standing at £242m in 2018. We take a look at entire Manchester City squad contracts and player salaries.

Manchester City player salaries
Manchester City spent big in 2016 and 2017 summer transfer windows and they added Aymeric Laporte from Athletic Bilbao for record £59 million in January 2018. As we head to the new season, Manchester City has already bagged another top name in Riyad Mahrez for around (£61.02m) which might increase to £75m if all clauses are meet. City’s are not selling any big name players and we don’t expect any more big name arrivals this transfer window which means their wage bill will stay just about same like last year.

Manchester City New Transfers:After spending over £500 million in last two years Pep Guardiola has the team to dominate the domestic front and City also added Mahrez as a backup going into the new season.

New bonus based contracts:

Since 2014 Mancherster City have been operating on a unique bonus/incentive based contracts for their squads and even the big name players like Sergio Aguero, David Silva and Vincent Kompany all agreed for incentive based contracts. All the players accepted the reduced basic salary but high performance based bonuses and incentives. FIFA financial fair play rule has forced City to kind of change their spending and that is visible in the recently leaked salary details of full team squad.

The following numbers only include the basic weekly salaries of the players but main players in the team enjoy lucrative performance based bonuses for example Aguero signed a new 5 year deal in 2014 with the basic salary of £220,000 a week but it can reach upto £300,000 a week with performance bonuses included.

makes me sick to see those wages. footballers shouldn’t get more than 10-15k in a week, and even that would be plenty of too much.

lol dude, just saying that soccer teams have to provide money for around 15-22 players whilst bball teams only have to play for 10 players, meaning each player can earn much more, you see young rookies in bball earning 5 million a year in their first season but in football a starlet would only get almost 500k a year its alot of money but you see the difference son.
