AS Monaco have had a wonderful season so far and they are well placed to win the French league title while also fighting in the semifinals of 2017 UEFA Champions League where they play Juventus. AS Monaco’s recent success and number of highly rated players has elevated the club brand to a new level and they are in a good position to negotiate a much better Kit deal with current suppliers Nike. While another american brand Under Armour are also interested in sealing a deal with champions elect Monaco.
Monaco’s incredible 2016-17 season has helped increase the shirt sales this season and the club has officially sold around 180,000 to 200,000 shirts through official sources these numbers are second only behind PSG in France. AS Monaco’s current deal with Nike runs out in couple of years at the end of 2018-19 season and the club are aleady in talks with Nike to re-negotiate the deal with improved financial terms.
AS Monaco are looking get on the level of other top European clubs as their current deal with Nike signed back in 2014 is only worth around €8 million a year. However with their recent success they are in a good position to put pressure on Nike to re-negotiate the current contract and extend it for another 5 years. AS Monaco are reportedly looking for €20 million a year with new contract and apart from NIKE, talks with Under Armour are also encouraging. No contract will be signed anytime soon and that give Monaco even better chance after the summer if they can complete remarkable double of French Lique 1 and Champions League titles.
