Southampton are close to securing a longterm kit deal with american brand “Under-Armour” which will kick into play at the start of 2016-17 season. Southampton and Under Armour are expected to announce the deal shortly and we will be update right here once officially announced.
Southampton Under-Armour Kit Deal:
The contract is expected to be long-term with atleast 5-years penned for the initial deal although no financial details has been disclosed yet it is beleived that it will be the record deal in clubs history earning Southampton £8 million a year in a 5-year deal.
Southampton’s current deal with Adidas was signed back in 2013 for a three year period but the relationship between the two parties has been rocky to say the least. Due to some financial disagreement Southampton produced their own kits in 2014-15 season before Adidas agreed to Southampton terms and produced their current 2015-16 kits.
Adidas are currently paying Southampton only £4 million a year so Southampton are about to double that with Under Armour deal. Spurs also has lucrative £10 million a year deal with under armour.
Under Armour already has a kit deal with premier league side Tottenham Hotspurs and Southampton will become only the second club to pen a deal with american sports wear giants. Under armour has been trying to penetrate european market and they are also about to sign a deal with German club FC Schalke. They also have kit deal with Spanish club Sevilla, COLO-COLO of Chile
