Stoke City has officially announced “Macron” as their kit suppliers from 2016-17 season to 2019-20 season in a deal worth £15 million over 5 years. Stoke parted company with “New Balance” after just one season and announced the new Macron kit deal which is the biggest in clubs history.
Most of premier league clubs are demanding financially improved kit deals and rightly so with premier league being the most watched sports professional league in the world and that too by a margin. Stoke’s City are not rubbing shoulders with established premier league clubs with the new kit deal with Macron where they will be paid £3 million a year. Macron also released a teaser video from the new Stoke City home kit for 2016-17 season and Macron plan to release 4 kits for the upcoming season.
Stoke City’s previous deal with New Balance was worth around £2.5 million which was signed back in 2014 with the New Balance’s subsidiary company called Warrior. Stoke City announced with official statment declaring the new deal as the biggest commercial contract in clubs history (no financial details were disclosed) but according to british media the new deal is worth £3 million a year plus addons if Stoke overachieve their targets.
The deal comes at a perfect time as Stoke recently negotiated a bumper shirt sponsorship and stadium naming rights deal with bet365 worth around £5 million a year
