MotoGP 2017 season get into last stretch as we have Austrian MotoGP at the Red Bull Ring circuit in Spielberg this weekend from Friday, 11 August 2017 to Sunday, 13th August 2017. The riders championship is as tight as it can be going into the last few races however winning last two back to back races Marc Marquez has put himself top of the riders championship.
Austrian MotoGP 2017 Preview: Marc Marquez has set the pace this year since the start of the season. He has accumulated 170 points and finished all races so far. While Valentino Rossi and defending champion Jorge Lorenzo have looked good in patches but their inconsistancy has put them 48 and 59 points behind Marquez respectively. Looking at the performances so far it is more likely that Yamaha duo will drop points instead of Marquez who has shown maturity and eager to finish the races even if things are not quite right.
Lorenzo started stronger but since crashing out in Catalunya. He has won three races so far and finished on podium 5 times but two DNF’s has really hurt his chances of defending the world title. Team mate Rossi has endured a similar fate and having won 2 races and four podium finishes he suffered 3 DNF’s leaving him at 111 points that 59 behind Marquez and things are not looking very bright for the Italian.
Many experts are tipping Ducati to finally put up a show this weekend as this track suits their bikes and it will be interesting to see how things pan out in very important grand prix of the season. You can join us here to get live links and full race replays after the race.
