Conor McGregor has defeated Nate Diaz in the rematch on saturday night in Las Vegas. It was another epic battle which went right down to the wire and McGregor was awarded the win on points system.
Absolute classic battle between the two, McGregor started the stronger and dripped Diaz three times in the opening two rounds but he failed to finish him off which came back to haunt him just like the first fight. Nate Diaz came right bak into the fight and put massive pressure on McGregor towards the end.
It was always going to be difficult for McGregor who was not fighting on his natural weight but credit must be given for the courage he showed to fight someone bigger and the one who already beat him before. There was huge purse at stake as both fighters made 7 figure numbers
McGregor made the history by taking home record breaking $3 million disclosed purse from the rematch against Nate Diaz. Diaz himself did not do bad with pocketing $2 million from the fight. McGregor’s actual earnings will be around $8 to $10 million when the PPV share is distributed.
