Rio Olympics are getting underway this Friday, 05 August 2016 with a lavish opening ceremony set to take place at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Number of featured performances are included in what will be one of the most watched live event of the year. However US viewers will have to watch the ceremony on delayed basis as NBC has scheduled to air the show at 08:00 pm ET which is one hour after the official start of the ceremony. UK and other worldwide viewers can watch the opening ceremony live in real time.
Its a massive event every four years and Brazil Olympic committe has promised a lavish ceremony which will represent the future vision of Brazil and what it want to become. Number of high profile performers will be taking part in what will be main “Brazilian cultural themed” performances including the carnival. Local Brazilian and international stars will light up the 40 minute show which will conclude with Olympic cauldron lit inside the Maracana stadium and it will be none other than Pele himself lighting up the cauldron.

The ceremony will begin with several Brazilian singers putting on a show including the likes of Gilberto Gil, Caetano Veloso, Paulinho da Viola and Luiz Melodia. The highlight of the opening ceremony will be supermodel “Gisele Bundchen” who will accompany many other local Brazilian models doing the samba in as less clothing as possible to celebrate the Brazilian women and their beauties.
There are number of other performances scheduled which will only be revealed once the ceremony gets underway to keep the surprise package till the very end.
