The eighth edition of Rugby Union World Cup will get underway with opening group A game between Hosts England vs Fiji and home side will be odds on favourite to register their first win in the 2015 RWC campaign. England started the stronger as expected and took the lead early on but Fiji were not ready to get bullied as they bounce back to score 18-11 to put England under pressure leading up to last quarter. England though held their nerves and managed to see off a decent looking Fiji side with a bonus points in the last minutes of the match scoreline England 35-11 Fiji.
Preview & Team News: The match is sold out and there will be around 82,000 fans at Twickenham stadium london for this opening fixture where England are favourites and should win this game after their superb preparations leading up to the world cup. They have won all their last 7 international matches and last defeat came back in November 2014 against South Africa. Fiji are no pushovers and although they are not expected to get out of this group they are certainly capable of producing one shock result and England will be hoping to avoid that.
Owen Farrell is set to miss out as George Ford will take the no.10 shirt same is the case with Joe Launchbury who is likely to sit out and Geoff Parling should start. Ben Youngs and Ben Morgan are also expected to feature in the starting lineup. As far as Fiji are concerned they have some quality players specially the ones who play their club trade in England. We might see Josh Matavesi, Asaeli Tikoirotuma and Tevita Cavubati settling for a place at the bench while Vereniki Goneva, Nikola Matawalu and Leone Nakarawa should all start the game.
Match Predictions: Looking at the head to head records its obvios that England has dominant this fixture having won all 5 matches between the two and I expect the same heading into fridays encounter. England has the quality to go all the way and since they are playing at home crowd support will also be a major factor.
